About Us

Why We Exist

ReadyTheology exists to equip and empower resilient disciples of Jesus by wrestling with the hard questions and answering the simple questions of faith. We want to see new and long-time believers become resilient disciples who, through the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, are transformed and transform friends, families and communities in return.

Statement of Faith

What We Believe

We align with The Lausanne Covenant. The Lausanne Covenant is widely regarded as one of the most significant documents in modern church history. Emerging from the First Lausanne Congress in 1974, with John Stott as its Chief Architect, it served as a great rallying call to the evangelical Church around the world. It defined what it means to be evangelical and challenged Christians to work together to make Jesus Christ known throughout the world. It is a covenant with one another and a covenant with God himself.

We believe in one God,
     the Father almighty,
     maker of heaven and earth,
     of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
     the only Son of God,
     begotten from the Father before all ages,
          God from God,
          Light from Light,
          true God from true God,
     begotten, not made;
     of the same essence as the Father.
     Through him, all things were made.

For us and for our salvation
          he came down from heaven;
          he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
          and was made human.
          He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
          he suffered and was buried.
          The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
          He ascended to heaven
          and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
          He will come again with glory
          to judge the living and the dead.
          His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
     the Lord, the giver of life.
     He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
     and with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified.
     He spoke through the prophets.
     We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
     We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
     We look forward to the resurrection of the dead
     and to live in the world to come. Amen.

We believe and affirm the Nicene Creed

Who We Are

Michael Godfrey

Founder & Content Writer

Michael is a Father, Teacher, and Master of Arts (Christian Studies) Student.

Growing up in church life and around church leadership, Michael has always been immersed in what building, leading and growing looks like (or does not look like). With a background in teaching, he continually searches to learn new things and teach others. While completing a Master of Arts (Christian Studies), he teaches, writes, and is a husband, and father to three boys under five.

As an INFJ-A (Advocate) and Enneagram 3w2 (Achiever), Michael's mission is to engage, equip and empower others to serve God, Church and neighbour. He believes that The Church is on the verge of revival, but revival only starts when The Church is revived.

After burning out in 2020, Michael aims to live differently by embracing slowing, living simply, observing the sabbath, and having times of silence and solitude. He enjoys exploring how disciples can live and grow in a post-Christian world.

Michael is always ready for a challenge. Reach out to michael@readytheology.com or @michael.readytheology on Instagram to connect!
